Literacy rate in Delhi has seen upward trend and is 86.21 percent as per 2011 population census. Of that, male literacy stands at 90.94 percent while female literacy is at 80.76 percent. In 2001, literacy rate in Delhi stood at 81.67 percent of which male and female were 87.33 percent and 74.71 percent literate respectively.
